Using SMART Ink with PowerPoint

If you have recently upgraded to SMART Notebook 11 and have since been unable to annotate on a PowerPoint slide in presentation mode, performing the following steps may solve the issue: 1. In PowerPoint, click on the SMART Ink toolbar in the upper-right of the screen (if you are NOT connected to a SMART Board, you may not see this).

2. If you see the following message, you will need to repair the SMART Ink plug-in.

3. Perform the steps indicated below, according the the Windows operating system you are using:

4. Now, you may need to re-launch SMART Ink by clicking Start > All Programs > SMART Technologies > SMART Ink

5. Youll also need to restart PowerPoint. After opening, you should see the following tab (if connected to a SMART Board):

Once you have completed all steps above, you will see a new SMART Ink toolbar when you play your slide show and you should be able to annotate on slides using a SMART Pen Tool.
