Spoken English Skills

Course Outline

This course is a fluency based course that will help build your confidence when speaking in English. You will interact within a range of situations and will receive input and afterwards feedback on your performance. This is not a grammar course and therefore not accuracy based. High attendance is expected to receive maximum benefit and for your teacher to give you effective feedback. Topics

Knowledge of the phonemic chart including the vowel sounds in English Difficult sounds Stress patterns

New vocabulary related to key skills and topics Strategies for developing and extending your vocabulary

Social issues Love & marriage Medical ethics Art & culture Government & politics Beliefs

Our agreement We promise to start and finish classes punctually, with a ten minute break half way through if the class is 3 hours long return any homework collected by your teacher to you within one week provide end of course certificates depending on level of attendance have continuous assessment so you can monitor your progress Make up sessions

We ask you to make an effort to attend all classes. do any homework set and hand it in at the times specified by your teacher make up any work you miss in your own time and be punctual to class

We offer recuperation sessions free of charge to students who miss lessons because of work commitments or Strasbourg weeks. We offer a Conversation Club and access to British Council arts events to all our students. The dates of these sessions will be announced by your teacher.
