A Compare Essay Based On Two Religions By James

Recently, in unit we have been learning about world religions with there similarities and differences. This essay will be about two religions Christianity and Judaism. In this essay I will write about the Jewish rules and beliefs and also the Christian rules and beliefs. Did you know that Moses is in the Christian bible and the Hebrew bible? Or that one of the biggest festivals is Christian? I will speak about the two religions on this essay. Firstly, I will write about the religion,Judaism. Abraham was the founder of Judaism. Abraham was born in Israel. Abraham told all of the followers that David was the King of Jews. As you may know, the Symbol of Judaism is the Star of David. David announced that the symbol of Judaism will be a six pointed star. David spoke about how it won the battle against Spain and how it saved his life. In the Jewish faith, Jews pray at the Western Wall which is located in Israel. Jews pray at the Western Wall 3 times a day. Jews pray at the Western Wall because the prophet Abraham said that David and his army built the Wall so that nobody could get in. In this faith, the Jewish bible tells stories about David and his army and when they went to battle. Also in the Jewish book their are the Ten commandments. The Ten commandments help people live there life as a good person not a horrible person. In the Jewish religion, people celebrate all different kinds of festivals like Hanukah and Passover. Hanukah is like Christmas, Christmas is when Jesus was born and Hanukah is the celebration of when the Jews beat the Greeks in a war in 164BC. Another great celebration that Jews celebrate is Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is the New Year celebration for Jews, the New Year for Jews is the start of September. Judaism has lots of rules you have to follower in order to become Jewish person.

Secondly, I will write about Christianity. Christianity is one of the most popular religions to this day. Christianity has 3 Billion followers that have to do the rules that the bible says. The bible says that you must be a nice grateful person and also you must go to church. A church is a place where Christians pray. The church is a peaceful place to pray. In the church the people who do the readings talk about stories of the New Testament and the Old Testament. In one part of the Mass they do the Nience Creed. The Neince Creed is when we say what we believe in. We believe that we have only one god we also believe that Jesus the prophet died on the cross for our sins. When people talk about Jesus they always say he was a good person. Jesus the prophet was born on the 25th of December that is why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus was the one who told everyone about how to live a good life he even has saints which spread the word about God. In the Christian faith, people celebrate all different kinds of festivals. One of the most famous festivals is Christmas. Christmas is when Jesus was born. In Christmas we give presents to each other and we roast turkey. The reason why we give each other presents is because when Jesus was born in a barn the 3 wise men came and gave Jesus presents. Christianity has lots of rules to follow and I think you would have to be devoted to being a Christian.

Jews and Christians are similar and different in lots of different ways. Lets start of with there both monotheistic also they both believe in God but they are to different religions. They are also different by having different symbols. The Jewish symbol is a six pointed star its called the Star of David. On the other hand Christians have the cross where Jesus died for our sins. Talking about Jesus, both of these religions have prophets. Christians have Jesus who spread the word about God and you also have the prophet Abraham. Abraham was spreading the news about God and David. When David was King he had rules and these rules helped Israel to be a better country. Christians have rules just like King David had rules for Israel. Both of these rules are very similar. The most important

rule of all is you shall not kill. Both of the religions have a holy book. Jews have a different holy book then Christians. The Jewish holy book is called Tanach. This tells them how to live their life. Christians have a holy book called the Bible. The bible tells people stories about before Jesus was born and after Jesus was born this is called the Old and New Testament. The Bible also holds the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments is commandments to living a happy life.

These two religions are similar and different in there own ways. I think that these two religion are very similar. Judaism and Christianity are a very similar religions. To prove that there similar religions they where founded in the same country. Both of these religions have a very long history and they had to go through some of the toughest times ever. The two religions are also similar by having the same prophet. Two some the compare and contrast essay, this is my compare and contrast essay.
