Yesterdays Founding Fathers, Todays Great Leaders AUP is a university that houses strong, wise leaders who care

immensely about their country and citizens. AUP helps make our already brilliant Founding Fathers into even more brilliant Presidents. At AUP, we dont find leaders, leaders find us.

Semester 1: AI think that you deserves an A- because overall you are a generous, humble man who had no presidential foundation to help you understand how to run the country, just your own personal believes and preferences. I say this because you were willing to be given advice by your trusted advisors and you didnt even want the high honor of being called Your Excellency, instead you just accepted being called Mr. President. I also commend you for offering to help France in times of war since they helped the U.S during times of need. This alliance gave the U.S a strong backbone. However, though your were a kind man through accepting the opinions of others, you had flaws like your destruction of the rebel farmers during the Whiskey Rebellion who were just upset about having to pay taxes for something they drank almost every day. It was a hard decision, but I feel you made the wrong choice. For these very reasons, I gave you an A-.

Semester 2: CThough you are a modest, thoughtful president most of the time, I feel you made the wrong decision of signing the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793, considering its unfair ruling against slaves during slavery, even if they are runaways; fugitives. I understand your position on being surrounded by slave owners and you being a slave owner yourself, it would be hard to decline the act, but I feel that you could have done something about it, if you even cared to (which it seems like you didnt). I guess that in favor of Congress and many other U.S citizens, you made the right choice, but morally it was a bad decision.

Semester 1: B
I gave you a B+ because you are a considerate man who has to make a lot of hard decisions that may have disappointed of upset a lot of people throughout the U.S. You did good by capturing 80 French vessels, but you felt that we should make peace with the French, which a lot of Federalists didnt agree with. You made us have to pay for ships that belonged to us in the first place just because you didnt make France pay for the ships they stole, which upset the Federalist Party and made you look like a traitor in their eyes. I still feel your a good man for taking an olive branch approach, but it didnt turn out the right way for you or the country, especially since France broke the alliance anyways. I feel you could have done better than a B, but I was lenient considering the fact that you are only the second president of the U.S and there is still plenty of room for mistakes. Please put in more effort next time.

Semester 2: CI feel you deserve a C- because he made a bad decision of approving the Alien & Sedition Acts. Its a bad idea because he states citizens as traitors just for practicing their rights written in the Bill of Rights. I can understand his position considering the tension with France, but going against the constitution that he signed himself, giving people freedom of speech, is unconstitutional. I guess that his caution for possible conflict with France set him in a higher grading level, but its still unfair for a citizen to pay a fee or go to jail for something that is said to be legal into Constitution. C- may seem somewhat generous, but I feel it is reasonable.

Semester 1: D+
I gave you a D+ because though you tried to protect U.S by paying tribute to the pirates to avoid having your merchant ships be robbed, it was a failed decision because you were continuously losing money with no end. Also, though you finally decided to protect the ships, we still had to pay the France $60,000 for ransom of crew members of the Philadelphia due to the peace treaty you signed, making a major impact on the U.S economy. Your major mistake was your Embargo, which left 55,000 seamen jobless and their boats docked and useless. I feel you could have consulted members of the government before making these bad decisions, even though your intentions were good. Dont give up on your attempts and hopefully youll be successful next time, just think before you act (and dont forget to ask for some advice).

Semester 2: AI gave you an A- because despite your hypocritical statements about Blacks, you never did anything wrong presidentially. Even though there are records and quotes of you basically saying that you believed Blacks are inferior to Whites and that they fit better as slaves, during slavery times, you had children with one of your slaves named Sally Hemings. You even stated in the Notes on the State of Virginia that you do not feel the same way about slavery as you once did. The only reason I gave you an A- instead of an A of A+ is because lawfully you illegally has sexual relations with a slave, showing that you are capable of broking the law. Nevertheless, I didnt give you less than an Aeither because it was something you did in the past. Other than that, I feel that these events dont effect your presidency.

Semester 1: A
I gave you an A because overall you made the right decisions during difficult times involving war with Britain and conflict with Native Americans. He first made a wise decision to peacefully warn the British not to continue attacking U.S ships, instead of immediately fight back. After the British ignored your warning, you made the risky, yet wise decision to go to war, especially since they were applying weaponry to hostile Native Americans. Even through the U.S was pushed out of Canada by the British, the U.S continued fighting off the British, especially after the British bombed Washington, D.C. Though the Treaty of Ghent wasnt helpful, you still led us to victory during the Battle of New Orleans, the greatest U.S victory.

Semester 2: B+
I believe you deserve a B+ because though you are known for pushing Native Americans out of their homeland, youve helped and protected U.S citizens, their rights and guiding them strongly. I havent given you an A, however, because it is unfair to the Native Americans for you to take their land, which is why the British are applying them with weapons. If you left their land alone or at least came up with a fair agreement with them, they wouldnt be so hostile and vengeful. Also, your attempt to march into Canada during the War of 1812 was a failed mission because whenever the small group of 7000 poorly trained men entered Canada, they were pushed back by the British. However, despite losing in Canada, you were able to make the lands west of the Appalachians safer for settlers by killing Tecumseh, which also killed his dream of creating a powerful Native American nation. With this in mind, I find that to be a great enough victory to give you a B+.

Semester 1: B+
I gave you a B+ because as a president, you were willing to help and assist Latin America in gaining independence from Spain and protecting them from other Europeans. In doing this, not only did you give the U.S allies for times of need, but you also gave the U.S a new trading system, which helps our economy. However, I gave you a B+ because of the Monroe Doctrine. I feel that it is unfair and selfish of you to deny other countries access to South America and Mexico. Being selfish, does not make an A president, but because you were protective at the same time, so it hasnt affected your grade too much.

Semester 2: NC
I believe you deserve an NC for this term for a multitude of reasons. For starters, the document written by Conn Hallinan tells of you being greedy and inconsiderate, saying that you tried to take over multiple Latin America countries, like Cuba. This would make a good reason to lower your grade, however the document was writing in 2013 and has no proof that shows that you actually tried to take over Latin America. Secondly, the opinionated essay written by Rut Nosotro during an unknown time speaks for itself as reason why you should receive an NC. He titled it The Consequences of the Monroe Doctrine, talking about the effects the Monroe Doctrine had on Latin America. Third of all, the images of both Uncle Sam on a bike (Evidence D) and him as a savaged king (Evidence E) are both opinionated documents, and evidence E doesnt even give an illustrator. I thought about giving you a low grade, like a D, because of the possibility of you listening to Thomas Jeffersons greedy advice, telling you to take control of Florida to get to the Gulf of Mexico, and also multiple negative opinions about your presidency. But in the end I thought about it and realized that there is no true evidence involving these document and what you actually did or thought, therefore you will receive an NC for this term.

VALEDICTORIAN!!!
Special congratulations to our valedictorian: James Madison! You were a considerate man who was willing to make amends with his enemies if they were willing to come to a mutual agreement instead of heading down a road towards violence. And when your enemies wouldnt listen to reason, you laid down the law and iron fist of the U.S, bringing the war to them, leading us to victory. When the British were attacking our ships, you warned them to stop attacking the ships, showing that you are honorable enough to give them a warning instead of just recklessly diving into a fight that may have been avoided simply by asking. And when that didnt listen, you made the wise choice of eventually going to war, and victory was ours thanks to your wise leadership. Even when you had trouble getting us into Canada, you made up for it by both Tecumseh, a major threat to the U.S. With such great qualities, I am pleased to elect you as valedictorian of AUP.

REPEATING
It is my deepest apologies, but sadly I am going to have to hold back John Adams. Though you are only the second president of the U.S, some of the things you did were inexcusable. The Federalist Party were definitely not your biggest fans, which set your grade pretty low and left you without any powerful groups on your side. Though you did well with capturing 80 French vessels, you made it so we had to pay American ship owners for their lost property because you didnt want to make France pay for what they did. What really killed your grade for your presidency was when you signed the Alien & Sedition Acts. These acts were completely unfair to U.S citizens, violating the Constitution and making people pay just for giving their opinions. This is unacceptable treatment towards our own people, and hens more sets you up in a bad position. I feel if you went another year as president, you would D have been about to turn things U around. Therefore, I am sorry to say this, but sadly you will not be N graduating. Dont take this as C punishment, take it as a E learning experiences.
