The clinical focus for NUR 125 includes fundamental nursing theory, process, scope, and skills related to meeting
the basic human needs of the adult patient.
Preparation for clinical:
Obtain patient information prior to implementation of care. Read patient record, nursing notes, medications,
labs, reason for admission, pathophysiology of primary diagnosis, signs & symptoms leading to diagnosis,
treatments ordered, prioritized problem list, one NANDA nursing diagnosis (Nursing Care Plans &
Documentation), expected outcomes.
