Instructions: Answer any THREE (3) questions. 1. Discuss mitigation in hazard management from the perspective of local government legislation. Include in your answer five existing Acts. 2. (a) With the aid of a diagram discuss the phases of emergency the distinguishing characteristics of each phase. management and

(b) In relation to a natural hazardous event of your choice, discuss the interrelationship between mitigation and recovery. 3. In relation the hazard mitigation strategy, list six categories of hazard mitigation actions that may be included in the strategy. 4. Outline a strategy for implementing and maintaining community hazard mitigation plan.
