Solutions in National Parks
• Better signposting of lowland footpaths to avoid trespassing

• Stiles and "Kissing Gates" to avoid having to open farm gates so animals stray.

• Footpath surface improvements to lessen soil erosion and gulleying in most popular walks. Eg: Local
stone slabs used on some routes eg: Rydal Water .

• Re-route paths with fences to create zig-zag routes to help prevent rapid run-off and gulley
erosion.

• Seasonal "OneWay" routes on narrow popular driving sightseeing routes eg: driving around Derwent
Water to lessen traffic jams and congestion.

• Park and ride schemes to shuttle visitors into the National Park from external carparks to reduce
congestion and relieve parking issues in Honey spots like Ambleside, Keswick & Windermere .

• "Mountain Goat" walkers bus to drop off & pick up from more isolated walks so walker don't need
to park inconsiderately on verges .

• Zoning of Lakes for different watersport activities eg: Windermere and Derwent Water.

• 2 housing markets - local and open, to ensure local house prices remain reasonable and don't
escalate, affordable only by "second home" owners.

• Education signposting and increased seasonal wardens to reduce problems like littering and unruly
dogs.
