Be Responsible ABOUT THE CLASS WEBSITE: www.webbchms.weebly.com o On my Weebly class website, you will find the syllabus, homework, study help links, and school information. o Each week the homework will be posted for the week on my Weebly by Monday morning at 8:00am. There will be no more than thirty minutes worth of homework each night it is assigned; however, it is important to plan ahead especially if you are involved in after school activities. TUTORING: o Friday 8:15-8:45am o Please let me know if you plan on coming, so I can have materials ready. o If you cannot make it Friday mornings please let me know and we can arrange another time.  o Final grades will consist of two categories: o Formal Grades (65%): Major tests, projects, and writing assignments o Informal Grades (35%): Class assignments, homework, and quizzes o Homework grading policy: o The 6th grade language arts department has adopted a check, check plus system for homework. The grading rubric is below. o Students will receive a check plus, check, or check minus for homework if attempted. Missing homework will receive a 50% (according to CHMS zero policy). o All homework grades will be averaged together and put into PowerSchool in the Informal Grades category. o Parents and students are welcome to ask whenever questions arise about current homework status o Community House Middle School Zero Policy: o All zeroes (missing work) will be entered into the grade book as 50% at the end of the quarter o Redo Assignments: o For grades less than 80%, students have the option to retake an assignment o Students cannot earn greater than a 80% for their final grade on a redo assignment
