Freec Show by Ginka Hunter x Hunter (2011) is a remake of the original 1999 anime with the same title.

The show follows a boy named Gon Freecs, who sets out on a journey to look for Ging, his father. To find him, Gon has to follow in his footsteps and become a Hunter, one of the people who dedicate their lives to hunting beasts, other people, or treasures, or to exploring the unseen sides of the world. Gon makes three life-long friends along the way: Killua Zoldyck, Kurapika, and Leorio Paladiknightall aspiring to become Hunters. Watching this anime version is as enjoyable as reading the manga. Instead of simply rehashing aspects of the 1999 anime, the 2011 series features new character designs, music, and voice actors. It packs great fighting scene animations, and the redone Greed Island arc is one of the shows high points. Viewers familiar with the manga can also look forward to the Chimaera Ant arc and the possible inclusion of the Election arc, both of which didn't make the original anime due to the manga authors five-year hiatus. So far, the series has avoided the quality drop associated with long-running anime; this is a notable feat, especially since the manga itself suffered a marked change in quality. Long-time fans might find the early arcs too fast-paced, but on the whole, old and new viewers alike are in for a great viewing experience.
