    In the eastern region of Taiwan, Tzu Chi University established the first and the only physical therapy department with a four-year program in 2009. The missions of this department are to educate the students about the basic and clinical knowledge, and guide them to treat clients with respect and humanity. There are 9 faculties with PhD degrees from USA, Australia, and Taiwan. The foreign-trained high school graduates with the ability in Chinese can apply the undergraduate program via the accreditation from the international affairs office. The special offer for aborigines is also provided. The total credits for graduation is 139 points. The core courses include neurological, orthopedic, pediatric and cardiopulmonary physical therapies with an emphasis on problem-based learning.
