To emulate as much as possible the rigor of a collegiate classroom and to encourage students to become lifelong learners. The student will have the thinking skills, academic endurance, and intellectual discipline for success at the next level. The student will respond to various texts by employing both personal experiences and critical analysis. The student will compose a variety of literature in different forms. The student will become familiar with various forms of technology that is necessary for success of the next level.

Composition Notebook Journal Students must acquire a college/wide ruled composition Notebook Students must complete all journal entries and classwork, unless otherwise directed in the journal. Journals will be checked randomly throughout the course. Writing Utensils

Use proper writing conventions and format. Students will read the summaries of two stories from the AP Suggested Reading list and complete a Graphic Organizer. Students will respond to a question in a blog on mrcurtain.weebly.com Students will use the BDQ Graphic organizers to break down AP Open-Ended questions. Student sharing during class is required.
