Option 1: Directions for Written Reflection: Think about what you learned when we were making our class

constitution. What did you learn about conflict and compromise? Is everyone always happy with the outcome? How difficult was it to agree on the amendments when everyone had such different viewpoints? How did the process of creating our constitution relate to the people making the first constitutions for our country? Do you think you understand how difficult it was for those making those constitutions? Why does it take more than one attempt to get it right? These questions will help you think about the process of creating a constitution and the difficulties it can create. You do not have to answer all of the questions above to get full credit. In your 250-300 word reflection, just be sure to include answers to: What you learned about conflict and compromise in creating our constitution. How does our process relate to that of those making the first constitutions? Why it took more than one try to get the right constitution.

Use specific examples from our discussions and from the lesson today to enhance your answers.

This written reflection should be either typed, or clearly written. It will be DUE on FRIDAY (2 days from now).

Option 2: Directions for Poster/Cartoon Think about our class today. Make a poster OR cartoon about creating our constitution. You must take a side on the constitution we made. Pretend that everyone will vote. You will be trying to convince the rest of the 7th grade class to vote either for or against our constitution. You must: Show the problems we had agreeing Show that the not everyone got what they wanted Show how our process is similar to the people who made our constitution

Those are the only requirements. Be creative and have fun. This will be DUE on FRIDAY (2 days from now)
