Salene Rowley Eng 111 Professor Dambruch 12/6/13

In this English 11 class I have learned a lot and Ive improved very well. This class will help me prepare for English 112 next semester. I am glad I took this class and teacher because professor dambruch is a very nice teacher and she knows how to teach her students well. In this class I learned many things, Ive learned how to cite papers, my writing skills have gotten better since Ive token this class. Ive also learned how to write better essays or paragraphs, and my vocabulary has gotten better with taking this class. My professor taught me many aspects of English, like the writing process to oral communication. Weve written about compare and contrast, persuasive, narrative, definition essays. We had to write a lot but thats for our own good and to help us move on to the next English. It was worth it as well. Our teacher taught us how to organize our papers correctly. I used to always procrastinate but after taking this class I shouldnt be doing that anymore. My professor helped me go over my paper, helped me find my mistakes and Ive learned from my mistakes as well. In this class we could make up our own topic but we had to write a lot and describe the topic. Ive only missed one class and Im happy because with going to class every day I learned so much things and new things, just like they say people learn something new every day. Some of these concepts are new to me and now I

understand them after taking this class. Weve brainstormed a lot in this class and it helped me write my papers better. Weve also learned about ethos, pathos and logos and they play a big role in a rhetorical analysis. In the beginning I never knew what these words meant but now I understand them now. Weve also written about an argument essay and that was fun thing to write about. Ive learned more about breaking down paragraphs and run on sentences in paragraphs. Weve always used MLA format and in the beginning it was kind of confusing but now that Ive dont it more I understand it better. I also learned how to cite a book with more than one author and a newspaper. Weve also learned between a scene and a summary. I learned visual hierarchy, argument, contrast, and typography. I learned about foreshadowing and about whom we are writing to/for, for example, audience, to persuade or entertain and inform. I understand what subject alignment, and endpoint sentence is no that Ive token this class. I know what RADCAB stand for, R is relevancy, A is authority, D is documentation, C is currency, A is audience and B is bias. I understand what proposal, point of view, and rogerian argument is.
