TheHook:JournalEntry(15minutes) StudentswillanswerthefollowingpromptintheirHistoryreflectionjournal. Prompt:Thinkoftheconflictsintheworldtodaythatarebasedonreligion.Whataresomeofthem,wherearetheyoccurring,and whydoyouthinkreligionhasplayedafactor? LessonActivities:(60minutes) CHART:(30minutes)StudentswillcompletetheWorldReligionscharts.Studentswillbedividedinto5heterogeneous groupsandwillbeassignedonereligioneachtoresearchusingclassroomresourcestheteacherhasprovided(textbooks, libraryresourcesbroughtin,internet,etc).Eachgroupwillcompletetheircountryssectiononthechartandwillpresentthe informationtotheclasssotheirclassmatescancompletethechart. PRESENTATION(30minutes)Eachpresentationcanbecompletedinmanyways.Studentsmayusetheoverheadprojector,a powerpointpresentation,orapostertoconveytheinformationfortheirclassmates.

LessonClosure:(15minutes) StudentswillcompletetheMapofMajorReligionsindividuallyandturnitinforagradeattheendofclass.Studentsthatdonot completethemapinclassmaycompletethemapforhomework.
