Unit 3 G1-5 PE learning Objectives

G1 Learning Objectives: In Unit 3 The students will be able to: Understand the concept of working together in a variety of activities including cups and saucers, teambuilding exercises and basic striking and fielding activities. Demonstrate more refined technique in the locomotor and manipulative skills learned in Units 1 and 2 and apply these in game situations. Understand how to give positive and constructive feedback to peers as they work in partner and group activities

Activities/Projects/Connections: Partner activities to further develop skills such as throwing, catching and striking. Team games such as scavenger races, cooperative tag, teambuilding activities Self and peer assessment to evaluate performance and effort in PE.

G2 Learning Objectives: In Unit 3 The students will be able to: Understand the concept of adventure challenge and the attitudes and profiles we need to display to overcome these. Work cooperatively and use communication and thinking skills to tackle problem solving activities. Begin to use technology in PE to further develop research skills. Combine a variety of locomotor and manipulative skills as they complete the different challenges such as obstacle courses.

Activities/Projects/Connections: Team building activities such as cross the river, water challenge and obstacle courses Self and peer assessment to evaluate performance and effort in Adventure Challenges. Through the concept of adventure challenges the students will connect to their Central Idea which is The earth is made of landforms that change over time.

G3

Learning Objectives: In Unit 3 The students will be able to: Learn a variety of athletic activities, such as sprints, push throw, tennis ball throw and standing jump. Work with partners and in groups to help coach each other as they develop their individual skills. Begin to use technology to help us learn and improve performance in sport. Use their communication and thinking skills to organize events and record data.

Activities/Projects/Connections: Students will work on circuit based activities to help them develop the skills required for the different athletic events Students will use peer assessment sheets to help evaluate others performances Students will use video analysis to allow them to provide accurate feedback to students in their class Students will be encouraged to research the techniques covered in lessons to help them further develop their skills

G4 Learning Objectives: In Unit 3 The students will be able to: Further develop the locomotor and manipulative skills learned in Units 1 and 2 and apply these in game situations such as speed attack, end ball, newcombe ball and capture the flag. Understand the concept that everyone in a team has a role or responsibility and that they also have rights. Use a range of transdisciplinary skills such as communication and social skills to work cooperatively.

Activities/Projects/Connections: Students will be assigned roles within groups and given specific responsibilities to be able to perform effectively for their group. Students will use technology to research and share ideas with other members of their groups Students will learn that the concepts being covered in PE connect to the Central Idea covered in their classroom which is When people have rights they also have responsibilities.

G5 Learning Objectives: In Unit 3 The students will be able to:

Further develop their skills in a variety of athletic activities, such as sprints, push throw, javelin, standing jump and triple jump. Work with partners and in groups to help coach each other as they develop their individual athletic skills. Further develop their IT skills in PE to help them learn and improve performance in sport. Use their communication and thinking skills to organize events and record data.

Activities/Projects/Connections: Students will research the techniques covered in lessons and create their own drills to help them further develop their athletic skills Students will use technology to record data Students will use video analysis to allow them to provide accurate feedback to students in their class
