Cable and Eyelet Hat

This quick, easy knit makes a great first cabling project! It creates a soft and comfy look to go with your winter accessories. This hat is worked in the round, switching from circular needles to DPNs as needed. Supplies - Size US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) - Size US 7 Double-pointed needles - Worsted weight yarn Gauge 17 st = 4 in Abbreviations: K: Knit P: Purl Rnd: Round K2tog: Knit two together P2tog: Purl two together C4R: Cable 4 Right (Place next 2 stitches on cable needle and hold in back of work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the stitches from the cable needle) Instructions Ribbing: Cast on 84 stitches and join to work in the rnd. K1, P1 across the rnd. Repeat this 1x1 ribbing until work measures 2 inches from beginning. Body: P 1 rnd K 1 rnd Rnd 1: P3, K4, P3, yo, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 2: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 3: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 4: P3, K4, P3, yo, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 5: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd.

Rnd 6: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 7: P3, C4R, P3, yo, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Repeat these 7 rnds an additional 2 times for a total of 21 rnds. Rnd 22: P3, K4, P3, yo, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 23: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 24: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 25: P3, K4, P3, yo, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 26: P3, K4, P3, K2. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 34: K2tog, K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. Rnd 35: K2tog. Repeat across the rnd. 7 stitches remain. Remove stitches from needle; cut yarn and weave through remaining stitches. Weave in ends. Block if desired.
