Observation: My initial observation occurred while was observin! the different facilities within the classroom" #his is the first classroom have been in that has a stove and a $itchen with all the utensils needed to %re%are a lunch" have thou!ht about the com%etency area of res%onsive and inclusive %ractice while was observin! the amenities within the classroom" Dialogue & Reflection: As an &arly childhood &ducator, have learned the im%ortance of res%onsive and inclusive %ractice" wanted to ta$e the initiative to %rovide our classroom with a lunch'in where we coo$ to!ether and all sit down as a class at one table and eat to!ether as a family" t is vital for students with learnin! disabilities to be in an environment that embraces inclusion" t has real value for every child" #herefore, wanted to facilitate a social interaction amon! everyone involved in our s%ecial education classroom" (astly, sat down to brainstorm my lunch'in idea" Planned Response: have considered the amenities within the classroom and have observed that we have a stove and a full'si)e $itchen with a lar!e si)ed table" #herefore, have decided to %lan a hotdo! day where will boil hotdo!s and set u% the table so we can all have a family lunch'in" n addition, wanted to !et the students involved as much as could so have decided to choose a volunteer to hel% me %re%are the table and set u% for lunch" After lunch will as$ a different student to volunteer in order to hel% me clean u%" #his $itchen %rovides the amenities needed to have a hotdo! lunch" #he frid!e features $etchu%, mustard, and relish" #he $itchen cu%boards have %lates, cu%s, na%$ins, and %ots" Action: My role is to set u% the table and choose one volunteer to hel% me %ut down the %lates, na%$ins, and o%en u% the buns" n addition, the volunteer can hel% me %ut out the condiments for our hotdo!s" My main role is to boil the hotdo!s and ma$e sure they are

coo$ed well" After the hotdo!s are boiled will %ut them on a lar!e si)e %late and %lace them in the middle of the table for everyone to !rab" After lunch, my role is to as$ another volunteer to hel% me clean the table and wash the dishes"

Follow- up Observation & Reflection: !se t"is reflection to appl# #our new understanding to #our on-going reflective practice process$ *ur family lunch incor%orated all of the students and the teachers" #his lunch fostered a res%onsive and inclusive environment because we all sat to!ether at one lar!e table" #his embraced the element of communication and interaction" +y choosin! student volunteers they are bein! %roactive which ma$es them feel confident and involved" *ur environment is a %lace where e,uality is bein! %ut forth from the staff" *ur students are in a su%%ortive environment in order to feel inclusiveness" -ractitioners should desi!n e.%eriences so every child has an o%%ortunity to be involved des%ite their bac$!round, needs, abilities, and s$ills" t was an honor to ta$e the initiative and %lan a family lunch" t wor$ed out wonderful and everyone a%%eared to be en/oyin! themselves"
