The Unattainable Star

I once dreamed that my hands could reach the sky, In it I saw the brightest star of all. My heart became a prey to a starved gull. But it always seemed to pass me right by, Quietly, and with the blink of an eye. After many trials, I began to stall. My heart grew weaker and the star went dull. The thought of catching it started to die.

I dream that one day I will catch a star. It will come to me; I wont long for it. The night sky will let it shine upon me. The sky is a map; my search wont be far, Feeling like a Mohammed Ali hit. The one that I am meant to have wont flee.
