Hello parents and guardians Due to the snow day last week our 100th day of school is now on Tuesday starting at 8:15-if we do not get any more snow or delay. If we are delayed on Tuesday, we will have it on Wednesday. We are starting our third quarter this week. I would like to get your attention to the fact that the students will have higher expectations in subject areas and behavior. Please remember your childs homework includes homework packet (usually due on Monday), sight word practice, spelling word practice, daily reading 20 minutes, and Study Island homework. Parent teacher conference is Monday February 3rd. here is the link if you would like to schedule one

Please sign and return the report cards. Please sign and return your intent forms for next year. Study Island: assignment is due. Here are some resources your child can use: Studyisland.com Spellingcity.com Starfall.com Sight words practice-sent home on daily basis depending on your childs ability level. It is very important to practice reading them for fluency. Bag-a- book is sent home daily. Your child needs to practice reading every night for 15-20 minutes. Reading should be consistent and as independent as possible. Please provide help when needed. They need to try to read but help them before they get frustrated. Reading should be a fun time, help them enjoy it. You can add a cozy corner (a big pillow and a blanket), hide and read, use flash light, or pick a favorite spot or any other favorite that will help your child enjoy reading.

Here are some news and reminders: Please label all belongings. It will help us locating them. If you are sending in money for ice cream, lunch or anything else, it will help us tremendously if you label it. We found money and no one claimed it yet. We are collecting old batteries as part of a school wide project to help the environment and raise funds. If you have any old batteries please send them to school. Also we are collecting box tops; please collect them and them to school. Please make sure your child has appropriate winter clothes for outdoor play. Please let me know if you have any questions.
