When the presentation concludes, all groups should sent a rep. to the front of the room to remind the other students of their theme statements. If time still remains, the ST will pass out a character analysis activity. This activity will roll over into tuesday.

Objectives/Instructional Goals/Materials

Activities for Tuesday Students should have their character journals ready for submission today. If the ST didnt get a chance to preface the character analysis activity, he will do so now. Students should arrange themselves into groups of four to discuss the journals theyve brought for today. They should take about 8 minutes to read out what theyve brought. When the initial round of group discussion ends, the students will have an opportunity to share what they have brought or discuss any challenges they had during the process. The ST will then go over preliminary character analysis and model for the students how to break down complex topics into manageable chunks. He will then let the students try on their own with their own journals. If/when the students finish, they should check in their progress with the ST. The larger group will congregate to discuss the activity and delve deeper into the characters that were selected for this assignment.
