iPad Kindle App The Great Kapok Tree book Book Creator App KWL Chart

Directions
1. Begin the lesson by gathering students on the rug in the front of the room. Using an ereader, read the next 8 pages of, The Great Kapok Tree. Make sure to point out the pictures and details on the pages. Have a quick discussion with the students about the content of those pages. 2. Fill out the last column of the KWL chart as a class. (The L column) based on the content of these 8 pages. You will be adding to the chart that is already there for week 4. 3. When finished, send the students back to their desks. 4. Students will continue working on their digital books. Some students will be finishing up adding their sentences, while others will be ready to move on. Once students finish putting their sentences in their digital books, check them to make sure they have done it correctly. Now, they will be able to add art to their pages. Students can use the pictures on the iPad to add to their book, or they can draw their own using the different color pens the Book Creator App has. Each Page has to have at least 1 picture. Make sure the students know that they will be graded on how colorful their book is, not just their sentences. Also, make sure they know NOT to color over their sentences. 5. Give them the rest of the time to work on their books. Walk around the room to monitor their progress and help when needed.
