Personal and Social Development Over the past four years, I have grown socially.

Through my high school experiences I have become more confident and dramatically increased my public spea ing s ills. I have come out of my shell and become more assertive. I have also expanded my leadership roles. Throughout high school, I have had to give many presentations. Doing so many presentations allowed me to become more comfortable spea ing in front of a group. !ach time I present I am less nervous than the last time. This has greatly increased my confidence in front of a group and "ust tal ing to new people. I am able to go up to someone new and start a conversation where as before I did not posses the confidence to do so. One way I expanded my leadership role was by becoming a tutor for a freshmen P#SS class. I tutored a group of students, helping them with their homewor and preparing for tests. I made sure they followed the classroom policy and were wor ing when they were supposed to. Ta ing on a leadership role causes one to not only be responsible for themselves, but for others. I became responsible for this group of students and I did my best to ma e sure they were putting forth effort in doing their best. I was accepted in the $ational %onor Society based on my leadership and service abilities. I was also chosen as the D#& 'ood (iti)en for *a e Shore %igh School. This award was given based on leadership, service, and academic standing. +y growth both socially and intellectually added to the reasons why I was chosen.
