The professional development plan for the faculty and staff at Hainerberg Elementary School (HES) is multi-faceted to meet

the varied needs of the educators, staff, and paraprofessionals that are employed in the school. Professional development plans are developed based on faculty input of specific learning needs, DoDEA training requirements, and grade level/specialist unique teaching and learning practices. A regular structure of professional development occurs on a weekly and monthly basis. HES also has three teacher workdays prior to school starting and three CSI (Continuous School Improvement ) days scheduled throughout SY 20132014. Additional trainings and professional development opportunities occur throughout the year to meet individual needs of educators and students. CSI 4th Tuesday of the Month Learning Communities ---------------------------------We have a wide variety of professional development opportunities taking place across the school on the 4th Tuesday of each month. These Tuesdays allow faculty to meet as interdisciplinary learning communities to promote collaboration and dialogues with peers. This is an ideal time to invite in outside instructional support (District or Area ISS support), plan a collaborative unit, develop STEM ideas for your classroom, investigate new technology, or find ways to work with colleagues to support our targeted subgroups of students (at-risk students, gifted, ESL, special education, 3rd/4th quartile students). Make this time unique to YOUR needs!
