What is AEGEE?

Association des Etats Gnraux des tudiants de lEurope European Students Forum Non-governmental, politically independent and non-profit organisation No national level (borderless Europe) Members inside and outside European Union Promotes co-operation, communication and integration amongst young people in Europe

AEGEE-Europe / European Students' Forum

1985: Foundation at the first EGEE conference in Paris 1987: AEGEE promoted the placement of the Erasmus project as well as the Tempus project

Vision
AEGEE strives for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe, which is socially, economically and politically integrated, and values the participation of young people in its construction and development.

Mission
AEGEE empowers students and young people in Europe to take an active role in society. It creates a space for dialogue and learning opportunities as well as acts as their representative towards decision-makers. Moreover, AEGEE strengthens mutual understanding and brings Europe closer to young people.

The new programme Erasmus+ merges several sectors which had independent programs in the previous cycle 2007-2013: Life Long Learning Programme (which included several mobility programmes like Erasmus, Grundtvig, Comenius) Youth in Action Sport actions
