They will operate from 11.40am 12.20pm.

Before Reading
Predict vocabulary that will appear in the text based on title of text
Make a personal prediction of the text type
The title/author/pictures/captions/text design makes me think of

During Reading
Each day, the group, deconstruct a passage. They colour code responses to
here, hidden and head questions.
Make a connection at either self, text or world level
Apply self monitoring strategies Read back, read ahead, use the context to
guess the meaning, use pictures, charts etc for clues, look for a part in the
word you already know (prefix, suffix, root).
Discuss and justify answers and location of evidence in the text.
After Reading
Discuss/ journal a reflective statement on what they have learnt about reading
as a result of the session.
