Personal Statement

I am working towards BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Media, Animation and Games,
looking eventually to secure a position as a 2D Animator to utilize my computer literacy skills and my
extensive knowledge of the various programs required.

My eventual career goal is to assume responsibility for a team of animators as an Animation Director
within a large scale studio and actively contribute to the overall success of any business I work for.

Key Skills

I have extensive knowledge and understanding within various computer programs, allowing me
to have flexibility in jobs and tasks. This means that I have the capacity to adapt to different tasks
easily and efficiently. Primary skills lie within Flash for 2D animation.
My teamwork and communication skills are as great as my understanding of animation principles
and this allows me to work both independently and within a group without issues.
Attention to detail allows me to accomplish the best quality of work, as does the consistency of
workflow and devotion to any project.
The combination of both technical competence and self motivation enables me to work quickly
and accurately under pressure, as does my ability to multitask and divide workflow appropriately.

Work Experience

Newspaper Delivery Boy, Rotherham Record, Ravenfield and Bramley
(August 2012 to Present)
Managing three independent delivery rounds totaling approximately 900 papers per week amounting
to 6 hours or more divided over two evenings. This work is integrated into my weekly schedule
alongside my college work.

Delivery Assistant in the use of Computers and the Internet, Neighbours Can Help Ltd in
collaborations with Silent Cities Ltd and Silence Breaker Media Ltd, Maltby Academy
(February 2011 to March 2011)
Voluntarily assisted in the delivery of one to one sessions to a group of senior citizens in the
introduction of the use of computers and the internet. By using teaching skills developed through
voluntarily attending school courses which provided an understanding of education techniques and
teaching methods, I successfully achieved my goal of introducing elderly citizens to modern IT
techniques.

Maths Leadership, Sports Leaders UK, Maltby Academy
(May 2010 to July 2010)
Through team exercises, a group including myself was trained to understand education techniques
and methods in leadership roles. I then independently and successfully planned a day's course to
integrate maths and sports in creative ways to primary aged students to improve their understanding
of mathematics and to enhance their confidence within the subject. I was awarded a certificate as
most improved student during the maths leadership award and, as a result, was asked to repeat this
course with a group of mentally challenged students aged twelve to thirteen.

Hobbies & Interests

My main interests are centered around the computer platform. My hobbies include various subjects
within this platform, such as creating animations using Flash in order to adapt my skills further to
improve my career prospects. I do this frequently.

In addition to this, computer graphics also takes a large portion of my free time, where I often create
digital art for practice in my drawing skills. This includes designs people request, varying from logo
designs for companies, to requested tattoo designs, all of which I create using Photoshop and a
graphics tablet.

Similarly, I also design Tee Shirt prints which are uploaded to various websites, available for
purchase, which also requires drawing and a designing flare.

I also enjoy analyzing the many different techniques which film and animation industries use in their
productions, and as such, films are a big interest to me. I therefore attend the cinema as often as
possible. I also enjoy playing computer games, not just for fun but also to aid my story telling abilities
and my understanding of different visual themes.

However not all of my interests and hobbies lie within the digital frontier. I regularly play squash,
usually at least twice a week. Not only does this improve my fitness levels, it is also a good
opportunity to make new friends and enhance my social life.

Horse Riding was also a hobby of mine, which I became quite skilled at and achieved numerous
successes in competitions.

I have also just begun to learn to play the piano and have recently acquired a keyboard to play at
home during my free time.

I also enjoy attending conventions, especially Comicon, as this is a great way to meet new people
with similar interests. Conventions also provide a great opportunity to meet workers within the media
industry, such as Rezzed, which game developers attend.
