INTRODUCTION LESSON RESOURCES
Today we will continue to work on our analysis of TWTWB and how it
represents Australian values. We will also begin work on our
assessment task.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE (LO):
To be able to recognise Australian Values in TWTWB, and organise
this information into a presentation.
TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES
1. Mark roll students to complete find-a-word puzzle on Australian Values, and pick 2 values & define what it means to them (10mins)
2. 09:50 Model prezi for the students on the PC; give them some tips on creating good presentations, explain marking criteria. (20mins)
Create a model prezi and show it to class.
3. 10:10 Students collect laptop from trolley and start preparing their assessment presentation (45mins)
They need to start preparing their speech response to question 1 of the assessment task: describe and explain the aspects of
Australian culture that have been represented in a variety of the texts studied.
1.Create dot points first, put these in your presentation. Then turn these points into sentences, for your speech script; e.g.
Those things dont happen not in this country is a key quote.
2. On the slide, write Those things dont happen, not in this country. Add a picture of the character Ellie.
3. In speech notes, write this is an important quote from TWTWB that represents the peaceful qualities of Australian culture. The character
Ellie, in this quote is showing that she has a strong belief in peace, mateship, and safety as aspects of Australian culture.
