The History of American


Foreign Relations
Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:15-3:45 pm

This special 200-level course will examine the historical systems and events that have
driven the past, produced the present, and guide the future of US foreign relations.
Students taking HS293 will engage important questions about Americas rise to the status
of global superpower, the world wars, the Cold War, the nations relationships with its
allies as well as its complex economic, diplomatic, cultural, and military adventures
throughout the world, with a particular emphasis on Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the
Caribbean islands, and Central America.
