Unit Two - Holocaust
3-4 weeks

Night, All Quiet On The Western Front

I Never Saw Another Butterfly, First They Came, Written in Pencil, and other Holocaust poems.

Media
Oprah and Elie Wiesel at Auschwitz, Holocaust museum survivors testimony, Stanford Prison
Experiment, A Class Divided, Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State, as well as other informational
Holocaust cites. Students will also watch The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.

Writing
Students will write a short research two to three paper about WWII and the Holocaust. At the end
of the paper they will also include a short one page reaction to Night.

week.

Unit Three - Asia
4-5 Weeks

Writing
Students will complete a four to six page research paper about a world crisis. Their research must
be based for scholarly articles, government website, and other reputable sources.

Speaking and Listening
At the end of the unit students will make a 3-4 minute presentation based on the research they
did on their world crisis.

Unit Four- Africa and the Middle East
4-5 weeks
