Activity 1: Jigsaw Talk -students share summaries of what they have read -students listen and take notes of what their classmates share
Transition to #2:Sustained Reading and Freewrite Now we will read for 10 minutes. Catch up on any reading that you are behind with.
1.1 Pre-Stage: 1. Have students go into their book groups 2. Have students share with book groups the page numbers they have read a. I read pages 14-25, I read pages 13-20 etc b. Come up with a group of pages they have ALL read c. Example: We have ALL read pages 13-16. 3. Have students discuss what happens in those pages chronologically a. Beginning, middle, and end

Students have 2 minutes to share the summaries of what their groups have read 4. Listeners must take notes on the Beg, Mid, End chart about the speakers book 5.
