Each participant must bring his own bike, swimming suit and safety helmet for any event he is
competing in. Registration may include squads of up to three people, e.g., 1, 2, or 3-person
squads. Scouts 16 and older on or before March 1, 2007 will compete in a 16+ age group.

Detailed Instructions

The Varsity Turkey Vulture Triathlon consists of which begins at 8 AM. The Triathlon will begin at 9
three events: (i) 12-mile mountain bike ride, (ii) 2- AM.
mile run and (iii) 300-500 yard swim. The course will
be at Lake Somerville State Park, with a trail map

This is the first year of the Triathlon, and we will be

firming up the course at a Varsity roundtable in
Austin to be announced shortly (likely the third week
of March). We solicit your input on the length of each
segment and route before then, especially if you will
be unable to attend. We will also determine whether
to charge a registration fee for the purpose of
refreshments and awards. (Other Varsity triathlons
typically provide a medal or similar award to the
participants/winners. The cost would likely be
$5/participant if we elect to do likewise.)

Along with the Triathlon, we will have a campfire

with both fun and a spiritual message Friday evening
for those Varsity teams staying overnight. We are also
considering a pancake breakfast during registration,
