Mesosystem
The Mesosystem is the second level of Breonfenbreeners model, the
mesosystem, encom-passes connections between microsystems , such as
home, school, neighborhood, and child-care center(Berk, L. E. 2013).
A child may be able to progress very well on their own in the classroom
but a lot of their ability to make progress depends on how much
academics are promoted in each of the students homes, as well as how
involved the parents are with the childs learning approach at home
in- school and after- school programs that substitute for lack of other
resources by providing child care and art, music, sports, scouting, and
other enrichment activities are associated with improved school perfor-
mance and a reduction in emotional and behavior problems in middle
childhood (Berk, L. E. 2013)
Epsteins Six Types of Involvement

programs designed to bring school, family and
community together in a positive manner (Hatter,
2014).

- Decision Making

proper nutrition, health and other services

attitude about school. This type of involvement influences children to complete
homework assignments, and gain skills and abilities.

cultures represented at the school:

students at each grade. Teachers can speak to parents on homework polices and
what will be accepted from the children. The school and community can provide
afterschool homework help.

development:
This type of involvement influences a childs learning and development by the
students becoming aware of representation of families in school
decisions. Understanding that student rights are protected. Specific
benefits linked to policies enacted by parent organizations and
experienced by students
