Hello Guys! I am Inderjit Kaur from Malaysia. This is my first time attending the LIYSF.

So , today we
had visits to scientific and research establishments in London. I chose to go to the Department of
Materials of the Imperial College which focuses on the Biomaterials in Regenerative Medicine. We
were briefed by one of the scientists there about the research area of the lab. Most of the areas
cover interesting topics like tissue repair, reprogramming cells, building neurons from skin cells,
engineering cartilage tissues and nanoparticles for cancer therapy. It was a great experience for
myself as I got to understand how biomaterials actually functions. The approach used by the
scientist to explain complicated things was very good and understandable by most of us even though
there were some not from the Biology background. In a nutshell, I had an amazing time and looking
forward to further exciting activities.
