Our culture mainly
consists of the Punjabis,
Kashmiris, and Siddhis.
During the holy month
of Ramadan all Muslims

dusk. Fasting includes

before any other

Families are much
larger.

country. Although
Hindi and English
are used officially,
more than 1,500
languages and
dialects are spoken.

constitution
recognizes 15
regional languages
(Assamese, Bengali,
Gujarati, Hindi,
Kannada, Kashmiri,
Malayalam, Marathi,
Oriya, Punjabi,
Sanskrit, Sindhi,
Tamil, Telugu, and
Urdu.
Indian cuisine
includes dishes
made from spices,
herbs, vegetables,
and fruits. Indian
food is also heavily
influenced by
religious and
cultural choices and
traditions.
Hindi and English
are India's official
languages, but there
are also 17 regional
languages that are
considered official.
