OneofthetwoemailaccountsusedduringthecoursewasmySHUaccount.It'scurrentlyclosed
sinceI'mnotanactivestudentatthistime.I'mintheprocessoftryingtoobtaintheemailmessages
asIbelievethemessagesmaybeusefulformyappeal.
Oneofmyconcernsregardingtheappealisthatanydocumentationavailablemaynotproperly
explainthereasonsformyappeal.Ibelievethatthestructureofthiscoursemakesitsomethingofa
uniquesituationcomparedtothatofatypicalclassroomstructuredcourse.AgainIwouldliketo
restatethataftera10yearabsencefromSHU,therewasnoadvisementfromthefacultyasto
whetherornotIshouldattemptacoursethatreliesonthecumulativeknowledgefromastudent's
previouscourses.Again,inmycasemycumulativeknowledgeisfrom10yearsearlierandinmany
casesfromoutdatedComputerSciencecourses.Iattemptedtodotheprojectforsometime(ina
yearlongcourse),buteventuallyrealizedIcouldnotcompletethisproject,andnotforlackoftrying.
Ittooklongertoconsiderwithdrawingthanatypicalcourseduetothenatureoftheworkinvolved.
MybasiccontentionisIwasallowedtoregisterforacourseIshouldn'thavebeenallowedto
registerfor,andinhindsightIshouldhaverealizedIwasacademicallynotpreparedfor.Ibelieveit
washandledpoorlybybothparties,andifthat'sthecaseIhavemoreofafinancialhardshipinthe
amountof$2100thanSHU.ThatiswhyIbelievetheappealshouldruleinmyfavor.

correctly.IdontthinkitsrightformetohavemycreditnegativelyaffectedwhenInever

class.FirstImustsayIthinkDr.Grodzinskyisagreatprofessor.However,duringthe
courseIexpressedtoDr.GrodzinskyonmultipleoccasionsthatIwasveryworriedthatI
wasinovermyheadanddidntthinkIcouldhandletheproject.Shesaidtostickwithit,or
insomecasesdidntevenrespondtomyconcerns.Ineededtoknowacurrentcomputer
programminglanguagetocompletetheproject.IexplainedtoDr.GrodzinsythatIhadnot

Inhindsightitwasafoolishassumptiononmypart,buttheprofessorstoppedcontactingmeand
thenmySHUemailaccountwasclosed.Iactuallythoughtthismeanttheprofessormusthave
agreedwithmethatIwasinovermyheadandwrotetheclassoff.Ineverreceivedabillsothatled
metobelieveitwasconsideredamistakebyall.TurnsoutSHUhadmyoldaddress.Iguessthat's
whyIneverreceivedabill?Ineverheardanythingaboutituntilcollectioncalled.Theyhadmy
phonenumber.Idon'tknowwhytheyfoundmebutnotSHU.Mycorrectaddressshouldhavebeen
onmyregistrationform,right?Honestly,Idon'tevenrememberfillingoutanypaperwork.
Doappealsevergetsettled,ie.,payhalf,etc?

IdonotknowthestructureofprerequisitesintheComputerScienceDegree,howeveritis
surprisingthattheRegistrationModulewould

Also,whydidyounotcontacttheUniversityinthe24monthsthathaveexpiredsinceyour
Registration?.
