DIGIPAK RESEARCH
WHAT IS A DIGIPAK?
Digipaks are little booklets made of card, which is used to store an artists
CD. It is used to promote the artists. It is used to promote the sales. Its
usually used for album re-releases, specials editions and also singles.
For every digipak there is a different theme. They would center around what
the songs within the album were about.
Nowadays, people are downloading music instead of buying an album,
therefore the digipaks are used to pursuade the fans to buy them. The
feature inside such as the booklet which contains picture and lyrics to the
songs gives the fans multiple reasons to by the digipak.

EXAMPLES OF DIGIPAKS
For every digipak there is a different theme. They would center around what
the songs within the album were about.

An example of this would be Taylor Swifts album Red This album had songs
which were mostly about break up. Hence the album name Red. It has so
much passion and emotion which is the type of words we would associate
the color red with

TAYLOR SWIFT RED DIGIPAK
As you can see in the pictures, the digipak contains
more dark color. It corresponds with the theme of the
songs. The red in the top picture to the left could
indicate hurt and anger, just like conveyed in the song I
knew you were trouble. The bottom picture might
convey the fact that she may have been hurt a lot,
however in the end she will end up okay, just like she
indicate in her song 22.
As you can see a digipak is not only a merchandise for
fans but it is a tangible version of the moods in the
songs.
OUR DIGIPAK
In our digipak we are aiming to only use dark and dull colors to convey what the songs
say.
The genre of our song is grime therefore it needs to show the emotional side of the song.
Typically when males are rapping they avoid to show any real sympathetic emotion. In our
music video the emotion is shown but through a character. There will be parts where he
raps but he wont be acting. Therefore the digipak will almost be like a way to convey
everything he wants to show. How hurt he was through the various events.
