4 University Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities Conducting an orientation meeting with the intern to discuss roles and responsibilities. Submitting a completed District Mentor Contact Information Form for each intern they are supporting to the Campus Clinical Coordinator (Appendix D). Scheduling and attending a minimum of two collaborative meetings with the intern and District Mentor. These meetings take place at the beginning and end of each term.
5 University Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities Maintaining weekly contact with the intern (in person, via email, phone, or Adobe Connect) and providing support and assistance as needed. Observing the intern a minimum of four times during each 8-week term, holding a follow-up conference with the intern after each observation, and providing written feedback using the Internship Observation Form (Appendix E). Discussing the observation with the intern and then submitting observation forms to the Campus Clinical Coordinator to be placed in the interns file.
6 University Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities Assessing the interns performance by completing a formative evaluation during the fourth week of each term and a summative evaluation at the end of each term. They are also responsible for discussing the evaluation with the candidate and submitting the evaluation through LiveText (Appendix F). Completing the Professional Disposition assessments through LiveText in selected Supported Teaching courses or as needed (Appendix G). (Last term of the internship only- EDMU 581, EDSU 591, EDTU 590, EDTU 591)
7 University Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities Monitoring and approving intern hours of support and supervision logged in LiveText (Appendix H). Working with the Campus Clinical Coordinator and intern to develop action plans to address any issues regarding candidate performance. Contacting the Campus Clinical Coordinator to discuss any issues that arise while supporting or mentoring the intern. Posting grades (Pass/No Pass) in MyBrandman at the end of each term. 8 District Mentor Roles and Responsibilities Provides the intern with assistance and support that directly relates to his/her needs in the classroom Assistance and support can be provided in a variety of ways for example: helping the intern with planning and designing instructional experiences for students conducting demonstration lessons in the interns classroom observing the intern and providing feedback attending workshops and conferences with the intern 9 District Mentor Roles and Responsibilities Completing the District Mentor Contact Information Form (Appendix D). Attending a minimum of two collaborative meetings with the University Supervisor and Intern. These meetings take place at the beginning and end of each term. Providing ongoing weekly support and mentoring to the intern throughout the internship Collaborating with the University Supervisor to monitor and approve intern log of support and supervision hours in LiveText. Contacting the University Supervisor if any issues arise while mentoring the intern.
10 Campus Clinical Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities Serving as a liaison to school district officials who oversee internships Communicating and collaborating with the State Chair of Education Clinical Services, Teacher Accreditation Department, and University Supervisors to ensure that the intern program is properly implemented. Conducting orientation sessions with interns Assigning University Supervisors and monitoring the observation and evaluation process.
11 Campus Clinical Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities Recording intern placement information in MyBrandman and in LiveText and working with campus personnel to ensure that interns are registered for the appropriate Supported Teaching and Internship Seminar courses Ensuring that all documentation related to the internship is collected and that support provided to interns is adequate and ongoing. Addressing any issues that arise with regard to the intern, University Supervisor and/or District Mentor. Developing action plans, as needed, in collaboration with the University Supervisor and intern
12 State Chair of Education Clinical Services Providing academic leadership and oversight of internship clinical practice experiences Leading professional development initiatives for faculty, University Supervisors and District Mentors Communicating and collaborating with Campus Clinical Coordinators Assisting in the resolution of academic, policy or other issues that arise at the campus level Reviewing action plans and monitoring the implementation of those plans
