‘OFF ROAD VEHICLE ORDINANCE
‘An ordinance adopted to authorize and regulate the operation of OFF ROAD VEHICLE'S
by the County of Lapeer Board of Commissioners on May 6, 2014. By adopting sald
‘ordinance In ts entirety for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, and general
Welfare of the Inhabitants of Lapeer County; and for the purpose of authorizing and
‘egulating the operation of offroad vehicles (ORV) on roads th Lapeer County, forthe
‘purpose of providing penalties for the violation thereof, and forthe dstbution of public
funds resuitng fom those penalties pursuant to 2011 PA 107, MCL 32481131.
“THE COUNTY OF LAPEER ORDAINS:
Section 4. As used inthis ordinance, the folowing definitions shall ply:
2) "County" means the County of Lapeer.
"Driver license” means an operator's or chauffur's teense oF permit issued
to an Individual by the Secretary of State under chapter TI ofthe Michigan
Vehicle code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.301 to 257.329, for tht individual to

permit.

9) "Road Commission" means the Board oF County Road Commissioners for
the County of Lapeer.
hy "Street means a cty oF vilage major street or vilage local street as
descriped in section 9 of 1954 PA 51, MCL 247.659.
1) "Township" means an individual township within the County of Lapeer.
3) "Township board" means a boitd of trustees of any township within the
County of Lapeer.
Section 2, An ORV may be operated on the far right ofthe maintained portion of a
road within the County with these exceptions:
