‘Mrs Hannah Welsh
My name is Mrs Hannah Welsh, I am a pensioner (over 70 years of age) and live at
the above address. I represent myself. My replies will be numbered to correspond
with questions asked in your ‘Proposed Bus Regulation (Scotland) Bill’,
1
Yes. As a rural service which at this time is a restricted hourly service. We
have no evening or Sunday service, one aftemoon bus (every day) is used for
school runs, so cannot be used by the public,
Practical advantages would be more of a choice of times to be able to travel.
Cannot foresee any disadvantages.
Reregulation would help people in employment, students and other travellers.
fone of the major routes could be redirected round this area it would give
people a choice of bus without hoping to catch a connection, so more
passenger use,
Financial penalties may only make the problems worse.
Personally it would only make a difference if the operator walked away from
the Franchise altogother as Taxis would be out of the question,
1 do not think there would be negative implications, with enough profitable
routes covering some rural services.
This bill is necessary in the situation here in Kinloss. We have no doctor,
dentist, optician nor even a chemist. One small ‘Spar’ shop which obviously,
does not carry a large stock of food. Travel is a necessity also for clothes and
footwear.
‘There have been talks by the Council but to date we have no details about what cuts
are to be made,
‘Yours truly,
