Developed choral warm-ups that addressed choral and vocal issues in the
repertoire while encouraging good vocal technique and strong choral habits.
Created student-centered lessons that both developed musical literacy skills
as well as took students beyond the written score to engage in higher-level
thinking and a more holistic understanding of the repertoire. Lesson content
was correlated to meet the benchmarks of the National Standards for Music
Education. Differentiated instruction to meet individual student learning
styles and special education students mainstreamed into the classroom.
Created formative and summative assessments that provided detailed
feedback for the students to reflect on and grow from. Attended back to
school nights to meet with parents of students. Conducted and played
percussion for the December concert.
Ewing High School, Ewing, New Jersey
Spring, 2014
Taught classroom music and conducted choirs for children grades 9-12 in a
supervised practicum. Developed choral warm-ups that addressed choral
and vocal issues in the repertoire while encouraging good vocal technique

students in order to engage learning of the provided music history
curriculum. Lessons were geared towards honoring the National Standards

individual student learning styles. Taught a weekly class of students with
special needs.

learning styles. Analyzing assessments based on Howard Gardners
Multiple Intelligences to gain access to multiple learning styles.
Current director of The True Voice Project, an all womens choir of
grades 8-12. Ensemble philosophy is based on empowering students to take
control of creative musical decisions, following a socially constructed
model of selecting, rehearsing, and performing choral repertoire.
Implements elements of the new National Standards for Music Education
based on the four artistic processes: Creating, Performing, Responding, and
Connecting.

Currently substitute teaching students grades 9-12 in classes of all subjects.
Responsible for carrying out lesson plans and reporting progress to the
absent teachers. Other responsibilities include filling in for aides of students
with special needs as well as Duty Release Aides (security). For an
extended period of time, filled in for the director of the shipping and
receiving department, responsible for delivering supplies and mail across
high school campuses.
