We are busy learning our songs for the Christmas Program. The emphasis of our program is on praise to our God rather than a performance to display our many talents. With all of the staff changes this year, we thought that we would do something a bit different this year. First and Second grade choir will join together with the 3-5 grade and 6-8 grade choirs as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. We look forward to sharing His Word with you on December 18th. We will not have any costumes this year. The children will only need to wear their nice dress clothes. Memory for December is the words of our songs for the 1-8th grade Christmas service. We will be working on them at school, but they need to be practiced at home as well. See the back of this note and be sure to keep it to practice from. Since we only have two school days next week, we will not have any spelling words. We will be doing many Thanksgiving activities and learning though! In Christ,
Margie Krzesinski
"Jesus, Son of God Most High" by Joe Cox and Jody Lindh. The 1-2 graders will be singing the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th verses. Those verses go:
1. Jesus, Son of God Most High,
Who did in a manger lie, Who upon the cross did die, Hear us, Holy Jesus.
4. Make us brave without a fear,
Make us happy, full of cheer, Sure that You are always near: Hear us, Holy Jesus.
2. Jesus, be with us each day
In our work and in our play, When we learn and when we pray: Hear us, Holy Jesus.
6. Jesus, from Your heav'nly throne,
Watching over ev'ryone, Till our life on earth is done: Hear us, Holy Jesus.
Huddle Close!" by Hank Beebe.
1. Huddle close! Huddle close! Be you cattle or sheep, huddle close for the babe in our manger asleep. Gather 'round, all around, as we do in a storm, so the heat from our bodies will keep the child warm. 2. Make a ring 'round the babe, be you donkey or goat. If I could, I would give him my warm furry coat. But we can come together like bees in a swarm: huddle close! Huddle close and we'll keep the child warm. 3. See that star shining bright; never saw one shine more: never was so much light on our manger before, shining down, in the midst of the circle we form: Huddle close! Huddle close and we'll keep the child warm.
"Go Tell It on the Mountain."
I know this is a better known song, but there can be some variations in words. So, the verses we will be using are: 1. While shepherds kept their watching O'er silent flocks by night, Behold throughout the heavens There shone a holy light. 2. The shepherds feared and trembled When lo, above the earth Rang out the angel chorus That hailed our Savior's birth.
3. Down in a lonely manger
The humble Christ was born; And God sent us salvation That blessed Christmas morn.
