I Learned Guidance Article- 21 Strategies

I really enjoyed the nuances presented and clarified in this article. It will help me to remain
focused having read this article describing guidance as positive discipline. Im a linguistics fan,
so I picked up on the fact that the word discipline is rooted in Latins dicipulus, which
means pupil. Though I never saw it this way, I appreciate that the article aims to make known
that guidance is not merely allowing children to go free, but rather about guiding children,
setting boundaries for them, and enforcing those boundaries in a consistent, positive way.
When limits are consistent, children know what is expected...
There were a lot of valuable distinctions made in this article and I wanted to save the finer
points, so I copied some of them here for easy reference. Im hoping to print this article or create
posters for myself from the strategies listed so that I can be more mindful in implementing
guidance myself.
