RE: Appeal against barring

My name is Amala Mary and I am the mother of Melvin Pereira a/l Aloysius am writing to
appeal against the barring of my son from sitting for his final examination, the reason are as
follows.
This is due to the recent passing of my husband Aloysius J.S. Pereira. As
now I have nobody to send and fetch me to and from work and all my brothers and sister live in
different states, my son took upon this responsibility to drive me to and from work
I was not aware that my son has been skipping classes to attend to my needs, of
which if I knew I would have found an alternative. I am currently working at The Alice Smith
school and my salary is not enough to support myself and my son and my sister who is currently
jobless. That is why I have to work part time as a home tutor to which my son sends me to their
home so I can teach. To ease my sons burden I have now enrolled myself at a driving centre for
refreshment courses for driving, and once I begin driving my son would not need to fetch me
anymorcve.
I am writing this letter to appeal against the barring of my son as I am sure that he is
doing his best to juggle his responsibilities as a student and as a son. According to my son he is
up-to-date with his tests and assignments and he is doing averagely well for his mid term tests.
His current CGPA is 2.8031 with one resit paper pending
Furthermore my son is currently under a PTPTN scholarship and this barring will effect
his loan. Currently I am not financially unstable to support his fees as it is quite costly for me
who is earning Rm 2500 per month with a house loan and a car loan. I wont be able to support
for his studies.
I am requesting that your department reconsider his barring, as from today I will monitor
strictly his attendance so that he will attend all his classes without fail.

Your kind understanding in this matter is highly appreciated

Thank you.
Yours sincerely

(Amala Mary)
