The RSN has given me plenty of opportunities to expand my worldview and knowledge, My quest to expand my engineering
knowledge has taken me ta foreign lands, such as Monterey, California, where | pursued an MSc in Combat Systems Technology
at the Naval Postgraduate School, as well as San Diego, where | underwent a System Safety course. | also had plenty o
‘opportunities to see the world and interact with foreign navies. During Exercise SINGAROO at Darwin, Australia, for instance,
we made new friends as we played sports with foreign naval personnel, and enjoyed an Outback-style barbeque.
All these opportunities and exgeriences have pregared me for my current role as the Commanding Officer of an Engineering
Centre. By learning how to engage with new platforms and naval personnel from all over the world, | learnt to not only maintain

I've ventured to many countries and had many exciting experiences with the RSN. One of my most interesting experiences was
diving in @ submarine in the deep Baltic Sea, Completing the very demanding training conducted by the Royal Swedish Navy
(RSwN) in the Baltic Sea, and bringing back the Archer Class suamarines to join the RSN's arsenal of capable assets, was
definitely one of my proudest achievements. But out ofall my experiences, my favourite memory so far has got to be playing

While a career in the RSN may seem challenging, it defintely has provided me with plenty of opportunities to grow. Being in
‘the RSN has taught me to be meticulous and precise, and to approach issues or problems from all angles. These lessons and
experiences have groomed me well for my cutrent appointment, where | oversee a tearn who helps ensure that the platform
systems on board the RSS Swordsman are always ship-shape. In short, being in the RSN has not only given me the opportunity
