What is Asphyxia? Perinatal asphyxia is the medical condition resulting from deprivation of oxygen (hypoxia) to a newborn infant long enough to cause apparent harm.

2. Interference during delivery with blood flow to the infant's brain. 3. Inadequate circulation or perfusion 4. Impaired respiratory effort 5. Inadequate ventilation
