Digipak Research- Chris Brown F.A.M.

E
Interestingly enough, this digipak shows a lot of contradiction. The different
shots of the artist in the front cover and back cover in terms of the album title
can be interpreted in many ways.
The use of a digipak is, first and foremost to portray the artist in the tone that
the music in this album sets. Although we see that in the front cover, the back
cover is different.
The front cover shows what the music of the album sets. The artist is
in the middle of what seems to be other pictures of him self. This
would give the audience the impression that he is self-absorbed,
however that isnt different to how we see other artist of the rap genre
whom only rap about things negatively and are only interested in the
recognition and money. The fact that he is surrounded with pictures
of him self could indicate how far he has come in his career to finally
achieve the F.A.M.E he wanted.
However the back cover of the digipak could disprove
that statement. The fact that the artist is wearing a metal
mask to cover his face in the back cover could signify
that he is possibly ashamed of how he has achieved this
fame. This artists particularly has gone through some
bad history, specifically with Rihannah, that has no
doubt gained him more recognition. Perhaps, although
he doesnt say it, he is trying to show that through the
picture. Furthermore, the wide shot of the photo enables
us to his body language which further supports my
argument. His left hand is spread out, which is
recognized as of confusion. Also his head is turned away
from the camera, unlike the front cover to show that he
is ashamed. The posture doesnt display the confidence
that the front cover does.
