Surgeons, Interventional Radiologist and staff in development,
implementation, and strategic planning for a Vascular Center of
Excellence. Reported to Chief Operating Officer and Director of Surgical
Services. Directly managed 21 professional employees. Responsible for
daily operations, policy development and enforcement, budgetary
compliance, staffing, and quality assurance of Interventional Radiology at
Chippenham and Johnston Willis Medical Centers. Oversaw the
completion of two new Interventional Radiology/Surgery Suites. Led team
in inventory reduction project to eliminate excess inventory and prevent
product shelf expirations and subsequent dollar loss. Led product
standardization and utilization for CJW Vascular Center consistently
decreasing inventory cost 2001-2003. Drove team in consistent supply
chain ordering practices improving SMART compliance by 60% in 20012003. Interfaced and negotiated with suppliers regarding products and
cost for department including new technology products and services.
Oversaw Vascular Center data collection and outcomes. Top 10 Most
Improved Score in the Gallup Employee Satisfaction Survey, Spring 2002.
Served on Safe Medication Practice Committee, Radiation Safety
Committee, and Chaired, Vascular Center of Excellence Process
Improvement Team.

Nursing Director, 2 Front Womens Center

Responsible for 32-bed acute care Womens Health Unit and management of 31
employees including three Clinical Coordinators. Reported to Chief Nursing
Officer. Responsibilities included policy development and enforcement, budgetary
compliance, recruitment, retention, staff orientation, and oversight of daily
operations. Assumed responsibility at the request of the Chief Nursing Officer in
very difficult times. Staff turnover had been very high, morale was low, and
physician and patient satisfaction were low. Turnover and vacancies greatly
diminished, morale improved, and several physicians returned to admitting
patients to the unit. Successful Joint Commission survey. Served on Nursing
Executive Council, Medical Surgical Nurse Practice Council, and Manpower
Committee. Chaired Retention and Recruitment Committee; coordinated Nurses
Week activities.

Clinical Coordinator, Medical Intensive Care Unit


CJW Medical Center, Richmond, VA
Responsible for daily operations, staffing, scheduling, payroll, recruitment,
orientation, and care of critically ill patients. Reported to the Director of Critical
Care. Directly managed 25 professional employees. Responsible for budgetary
compliance, ordering supplies, and managing supply cost. Successful Joint
Commission Survey. Lectured in Critical Care Internship and precepted MCV
students during their management practicum. Served on Interdisciplinary Rounds
Committee, Progressive Care/Intensive Care Improvement Initiative, and Virginia
