The movie is a love triangle starring Arjun Rampal[1] as Kabir Grewal, a film ma
ker and Jacqueline Fernandez in a dual role.[2][3] Ranbir Kapoor plays the role
of a mysterious thief named Roy.

Initially, director Vicky Singh was supposed to direct a film titled Mera Jahaan
, with Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in leading roles, which failed to material
ize.[2] He then attempted to make another film with the former alongside Deepika
Padukone.[4] This film couldn't work out too due to the fall out between the co
uple so Singh decided to make a two-hero project, Roy.[5]
