ROTATION OF THE EARTH


The earth rotates about an imaginary
line that passes through the North and
South Poles of the planet. This line is
called the axisday.

TRANSLATION OF THE
EARTH
The Earth turn around the Sun.
The sun is also moving in the space
and the earth traces a path with very
clear speed cycles according to the
earth's distance to the sun.

THE EARTHS LAYERS


Planet Earth has got three main layers:
the core, the mantle and the crust.
Core: The core is the centre of Earth. Is
covered by the mantle
Crust: The crust is the surface of the
Earth.

SPHERES OF THE EARTH


Geosphere: Geosphere has three layers:
the core, the crust and th mantle.
Atmosphere: Is the air. Contened three
gases: Nitrogen, Oxygen and Canbon
dioxide.
Hydrosphere: Is all the water on, under
and above the Earth.
Biosphere: Is all the living things which
inhabit the Earth.

THE SEASONS
The Earth has four seasons: summer,
winter, spring and autumn.
When is summer in the northen
hemisphere, the days are long and
the nights are short.
When is winter in the northern
hemisphere, the days are short and
the nights are long.
In spring and autumn, the Earth is
still tilted. The days are about as long

CHARACTERISTICS
Antarctica is the southernmost
continent on Earth. The South Pole is
found in Antarctica.
Antarctica is bigger than Europe and
almost double the size of Australia.

RELIEF
Most of Antarctica is covered in ice
over 1.6 kilometres thick.
Well known animals that live in
Antarctica include penguins and
seals

WATERS
The only river in Antarctica is the Onyx
river.
Despite being only 32 kilometres in
length it is the longest river in
Antarctica

countries. It is located to the south
east of Asia.
