Morrison-Chartwells Dietetic Internship Program - Compass Group USA

Clinical: Evaluated the needs of patients at nutritional risk, recommended dietary changes
and supplements, educated patients on various medical diets, and calculated nutrient
goals and nutrition support prescriptions.

School Nutrition Management (SNM): Created menus for a school district, developed a modified
menu for an egg allergy, promoted National Nutrition Month and National School Breakfast
Week, sampled and featured new menu items to boost sales. Learned about different monthly
financial reports used by the school district, budgeting, ordering, using the processing guide to
order commodities, and processes involved with employee discipline.

Health Fair Volunteer (October & November 2014)



Christian Hospital Northeast (St. Louis, MO)

October- Presented on healthy eating habits, ways to increase fruit and vegetable intake, and
shopping on a budget. Answered nutrition related questions

November - Took blood samples and tested HbA1c levels to identify those at risk for diabetes.
Provided information on ways to lower HbA1c levels.

Worked on a research project (Eat Healthy, Your kids are watching!) funded by MSU and
Michigan Nutrition Network (MNN).

Conducted nutrition education lessons for low-income families. Entered and analyzed data for
more than 200 participants and completed IRB (Institutional Review Board) certification.
